Hello newgrounds. I haven’t been on here in quite a while lol. I’ve been busy with film work and life in general. I’ve been toying around with a concept for a bit now and finally had some time to dive into it. I’ve been looking for an outlet, preferably anthology horror stories, that radio dramas haven’t been able to satisfy. My biggest gripe with them is that you are a passive listener. A fly on the wall. I want an experience where it’s best described as a movie for the ears. Theater of the mind does the visual lifting. I’ve wanted to do an hp lovecraft project for a long time now, but they’ve always turned into a audio book with music at best. Not very fulfilling and not really pushing the limits of what the audio format can accomplish. The scary part of lovecraft stories is what you imagine, less so than what’s explicitly described. And the stories themselves don’t really benefit from the audio format as written imo. While this isn’t a lovecraft story, what I’ve learned from analyzing lots of “spoken word media” on the subject has led me to the path of telling stories in a way that doesn’t require exposition. This is my attempt at exploring that avenue. And I should mention this is my first attempt at diving into Atmos, and it’s been a lot of fun. When the time comes, I’ll be fully utilizing the platforms that support Atmos files directly rather than mixdowns.

Its just a proof of concept really, but I think I’m on the right track. I’d like to hear what sort of feedback the general public has on the idea. Thanks for taking the time.
